There is a very small place, in a tiny remote corner of the metaverse, where some, a very few, only 50 kittens, have always lived in colored cups.
Each of these adorable creatures has their own identity, a particular feature that makes them unique, and they love to move around in imaginary environment.

Day #0001
The first ever CupNCat was sighted in the Metaverse. His name is 021, and he would like to be adopted.
Day #0002
Very little is known about CupNCats. From the discovery of 021 we know that they are extremely shy, and that there should be only about fifty of them.
Day #0003
I found CupNCat 021 next to a swimming pool. Now I know that their colors depend on what they want to be in their imagination. 021 "is" a famous swimmer, and his colors are inspired, in fact, by an Olympic swimming pool.

Every day I discover a few more details about these cute little creatures. CupNCat 021 has lost his memory, and from what he remembers, once upon a time they all lived together, then something happened ...
From today I started calling him "Swimmer", and he seems to really like his new name, instead of a simple number as it always has been ...
He told me that he has a vague memory of his 2 sisters, something related to a cup of sunflower seeds and a cup of berries ...

This morning there is a beautiful sun, and I was fantasizing in the Metaverse, when at one point I noticed an endless field of sunflowers in the distance. I had the sun behind me, and it was as if those flowers were looking at me, if they wanted to tell me something ...
As I got closer I noticed something moving, hiding behind the larger flower. I approach it cautiously, move it, and ... I found another shy CupNCat. It's 020, Swimmer's sister ...

Swimmer is delighted to have found his sunny little sister 020 (now also known as Sunflower). I heard them talk about living together again someday ... if only they could remember ... I'm starting to think that all the CupNCats have lost their memory ...

It would be nice to live only in the Metaverse, but physical presence is still necessary, and we must take care of our body, and citrus fruits are known for their various beneficial properties.
I take an orange from the bowl, and I see two sly eyes looking at me, hidden under the other fruits. All I can do is to name my new CupNCat... "Citrus".

Like cats in the real world, a CupNCat also knows how to hide in the Metaverse, there, in front of your eyes, and reveal themselves when you least expect it ...
In this frozen 8bit forest of the far north I found this frightened and cold new friend, 039, "Arctic Winter".
Day #0009
Today Citrus recalled a curious fact: the day when he found himself alone, in an unknown place, he met another CupNCat, near a pond full of purple flowers.
She said she was "Mom", then she went back to her pool ...
Day #0010
It took me a long time to find the pond with purple flowers described by Citrus, and it was difficult to find "Mom", perfectly camouflaged due to its colors...
As soon as I picked up her 044 cup she began to tell me, through tears, her story. She says she has 3 "offspring", which I think can be compared to our concept of children, and one "related", which I assume is the partner, or husband.
She also says they have always lived together, until the day of "disintegration". So a CupNCat has also the concept of family, and "Mom" is a splendid example of that. I'll rename her Water Lily.

A little while ago, talking to "Mom", I discovered that every CupNCat has a "pawness" level (as they call it), assigned since time immemorial (note: it seems retain memory and skills depend from "pawness" level as well)...

Tonight I was half asleep watching some NFT, when at some point I notice something strange out of the corner of my eye. I focus on one of the open windows, and I see a CupNCat wandering aimlessly ... it has no idea who it is and what it is doing around the Metaverse. He walks over to the others and stands in a corner, in silence. Swimmer thinks it's 025.
Day #0013
As happened the other day with 025, another wandering CupNCat showed up today too, silently positioning itself to its left.
Are they related?
For Swimmer it's 026.
Day #0014
Thanks to a primordial NFT enthusiast, a curious CupNCat is found in an ancient temple, wearing a monocle and with a penetrating gaze.
He says that his name is 014, the CupNCat wise master, in search of his 2 lost disciples in the endless Metaverse. I'll call him just "Doc".
Day #0015
Apparently "Doc" is the keeper of decentralized truths.
He knows the CupNCat world will not return as it was, until they all will be found.
He needs his disciples...

Wise Master divulges:
"We cannot only focus on the key nodes. In a decentralized system, each one, even the smallest, weakest, and apparently insignificant CupNCat, is necessary for the survival of their world."
Day #0017
A wonderful tropical lagoon of the Metaverse reveals 002, another silent and mysterious CupNCat.
As soon as the Wise Master sees him, he proclaims:Â "002 is the center, and together with its counterparts 001 and 003 it composes the perfect number, [Th3Thr33]".

I begin to have a trained eye ... while shopping online I notice two CupNCat frolicking among the products. They are 040 and 041, Pansy and Candy, compulsive shoppers.
Wise Master Doc comments: "these two girls represent how to take the life lightly, dreaming of living in a bubble forever, smoothly"

Also in the Metaverse we have the Friendly Floatees, an avalanche of images, nft, meme with yellow ducks. In a floating yellow island we peeked a CupNCat, well camouflaged ...
"Mom" recognizes him immediately, despite her funny headdress, it is 013, her beloved "relative", immediately renamed "Ducky Dad". Now they can join forces to seek their "offspring" together.
Day #0020
Finally we begin to glimpse something. The Metaverse distortion that prevented the CupNCat search for a week is dissolving. Doc ruled: "the Disruptor confuses".
Day #0021
In a crowdy cyberpunk neighborhood of the Metaverse, a CupNCat is found, very well hidden in a very small apartment.
He says his name is 012, and claims to be a CupNCat secret agent, and has only one part of the information needed to get to the truth of what happened.
He says CupNCat agents 037 and 007 have the missing parts, but fears for their safety, as they were discovered by an infiltrator by the Disruptor.

012 states he vaguely remembers one of his node neighbor, 011, who was very good at sneaking into the Metaverse and to reconstruct the chronologies ... Once found we can try to find the other 2 agents

Today, out of nowhere, another CupNCat appeared in the Metaverse, and immediately placed itself to the right of 002, probably attracted by the latter. It's definitely 001, another element of [Th3Thr33], the perfect number.
Day #0024
Hidden behind a box of cookies, CupNCat 032 was found today. It says to remember its assignment, "1of5", but it doesn't know what that means, even the wise Doc can't remember the meaning.
Day #0025
Although I like to see those CupNCat running around, Doc told me: "to rebuild our community you need to group us neatly". So, for this purpose, I have built a proper virtual shelf.

Nearby CupNCat 035 is found, and, like 032, says that his task is "4 of 5", and sudden placed itself in the lower right side of 032. The master begins to remember something...

As had already happened with Citrus, sometimes it happens to find a CupNCat in the most unlikely place of the Metaverse, as in this pixelart which represents a bowl of peppers.
I am pleasantly surprised when I discover that he's 045, one of Doc's disciples, who can now count on an extra mind to trace what has disrupted the CupNCat community.
